Hello. Welcome to the new web site of the West Midlands Synod of the United Reformed Church. A survey of the synod's churches has revealed that there is a great deal going on in them and their communities. It reflects the life of faith and witness of the church. God is perceived to be at work through their corporate life and through individual members in the wider community.
On the 26th August a letter appeared in the Guardian sharply pointing out that the coalition government is not shielding the poor as it should be and as the government said it was going to do. The letter is written by the United Reformed Church’s Deputy General Secretary, Richard Mortimer together with Methodist and Baptist colleagues. It is a small example of the fact that the United Reformed Church with fellow Christians, seeks to make a difference for Christ’s sake and show the grounding of people in God’s love. As the new term of school, government, church and wider work re-starts – or for many the seeking of work and higher education places – I hope whether United Reformed Church member or visitor here you find what you are looking for. It includes examples of difference making going on. If not already doing so you might want to join in.
